Over Optimism In Your Food Habits Can Be Bad

The systematic tendency of the people to be over confident about the outcome of planned action is called as over-optimism. It causes the optimistic bias. People overestimate the likelihood of the positive events and under-estimating the likelihood of the negative events. It’s kind of positive illusion. People with over optimism usually have the tendency to under invest in primary and preventive care.

Over optimism in your food habits thinking that you can burn out all the calories you consume in the long run can hire ailments like high cholesterol warranting treatment with Atorvastatin and Simvastatin.  So, when it is the case with food and dieting over confidence is pretty hazardous. 

They don’t show much interest in the risk-reducing behaviors as they are over confident about their health and mental strength. Usually this can be seen in a smoker, who really doesn’t care about the consequences of chain smoking as he is over optimistic about his health and also on life. Overconfidence in people will surely cause a late payment of the bills, as they don’t give a concern to the future problems of late payments since they are very confident about them. They have a tendency that they may not have to face any troubles due to late payments.

Due over optimism, people tend to lose jobs easily. They have a feeling that they will get a job anywhere in the world with their talent. But most of them doesn’t give a though about attitude which matters mostly in any organization.

While studying the brain, it was found that the when imagining about negative future events, signals in the amygdale which is the emotion center of the brain are weaker than when remembering the past negative events. This weakened consideration of possible negative outcomes is one possible mechanism for optimism bias.
