Pre-Menopause In Females

 The phase in a woman’s life just before the onset of menopause is called as pre-menopause or perimenopause. Menopause is when a female’s menstrual cycle permanently ceases. The length of pre-menopause varies from woman to woman. It may lasts from one to six years.

 Due to the fluctuation and declining of the hormone production, various symptoms occur. There may be changes in their menstrual cycle. As the estrogen levels decreases the menstrual cycle may shorten, which causes more frequent periods? But in some women there might longer cycle with less frequent periods.  Hot flushes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, sleep problems, gaining weight, breast tenderness and headaches are the problems causes during a pre-menopause which is causes by the decreased level of estrogen.

Pre-menopauses can also induce a variety of emotional changes like anxiety, irritability, depression and a sudden inability to handle stress. Alternative approaches involve little or no risk and can be considered as the best and safest premenopausal treatment. Herbal remedies and acupuncture establishes themselves as the best treatment. Acupuncture is a Chinese medical treatment involving the insertion of very fine sterile needles in the body at specific points according to a mapping of the energy pathways.

In cases where you are having arthritis and if you are on medications like Celebrex or Celecoxib it is important you continue with those medications.  There is no need that you stop those medications while you are entering in to menopause.

Phytoestrogen and non-estrogen herbs are the two types of herbs used for treating pre-menopause. The phytoestrogen herbs contain estrogenic components produces by plants . Though these plants are good for treating low hormone level, they replace the some of the missing hormones. So this cannot be a best treatment for pre-menopause. Non-estrogenic herbs stimulate a woman’s own hormone production, by including the optimal functioning of the pituitary and endocrine glands.
